Reducing Negative Environmental Impact Due To Oil and Gas Extraction

The global demand for oil and gas is increasing at a startling rate, so effective extra capacity is required to balance the demand and supply dynamics. This is essential to maintain a good quality of life. ITFI strives to find ways to tap more resources, concentrating on reducing the negative impacts on the environment at the same time.

Renewable energy resources with cleaner hydrocarbons like natural gas is ITFI’s vision for the future. We are also taking necessary steps to reduce Carbon dioxide and methane emissions.

Natural Gas

Natural Gas is a naturally occurring mixture of gases like methane. It forms when layers of decomposing plant and animal are exposed to intense pressure under the earth's surface. Some deposits are on the surface and easy to extract, while some are trapped deep in the earth's cusp. The place they rest are called sedimentary basins, which are drilled vertically to let the natural gas to escape.

Natural gas results in only 1/10th of air pollutants when compared to using coal for power generation. We tap the natural gas resources into liquid fuels and hydraulic fuels. This cleaner burning hydrocarbons, can be transported by pipeline to shore to be used to generate electricity, heat homes, and power basic industrial processes and to power up the transport. It can complement renewable resources, but controlling excess methane emissions is a huge challenge. Our vision for strategic LNG project to ensure affordable energy resources is taking giant strides forward.

Environmental responsibility

We take steps to detect and curb excessive carbon dioxide and methane emissions by using advanced technology. This can drastically reduce air pollution and prevent global warming footprints.

Fresh water is a necessity for our industry, but we take steps to reduce wastage and finding ways to use it more efficiently. One of the ways is carbon capture, utilization and storage.

We also care about local natural habitats both on the ground and underwater, and try extracting with minimal interference to marine life.

We undertake effective waste water management solutions. We have studied the impact of injecting wastes into base rocks as opposed to sedimentary rocks, to reduce earthquake risks to surrounding areas.

Fracking is the process of injecting liquid at high pressure into subterranean rocks to extract oil or gas. We are aware that in addition to air pollution, fracking can harm soil and surroundings. We aim to reduce the negative impact of fracking, by taking necessary safety measures.

We take necessary measures to reduce oil spills and avoiding ground water contamination.

The wastes that cannot be disposed of safely at sea, are brought to the ground for proper processing.

We take steps to reduce the negative impacts of extraction of oil and gas on the soil. We understand that soil pollution can lead to groundwater sources getting affected. We take necessary steps to protect the base soil with careful precision.

ITFI is committed to dynamically plan for environmental protection, by coming up with sustainable solutions for renewable energy resources. Environmental friendly drilling mechanism is in our pipelines, and we hope to leave an enriched world for future generations!
